Bless the Parents, Students, and Teachers

God of us all,
again and again, you make all things new
and we are grateful.
Thank you – again – for the coming of Christ,
and thank you for renewing the strength
of parents, students, and teachers.

Bless all parents, O God:
Make them brave when they feel afraid,
wise in the face of their challenges,
and patient and gentle with themselves.
Give them joy this day,
and the knowledge that the best they can do is good enough.

Bless all children and youth who are schooling from home:
Help them not to feel alone,
help them to discover new inner strength
and new ways to connect with others.
Give them joy this day,
and the knowledge that the best they can do is good enough.

Bless all teachers and tutors, O God:
Watch over them, provide for them,
guide them, sustain them.
Give them joy this day,
and the knowledge that the best they can do is good enough.

Bless all who were challenged by poverty and special needs before the pandemic struck:
Shelter them from stress,
keep them from despair,
be their comfort and peace.
Give them joy this day,
and the knowledge that the best they can do is good enough.

God of us all, you are our refuge and strength,
a very present help in any trouble.
Grant us your grace – as individuals and as community –
to bear with one another in love,
and to share with one another our support, our care, our hope.

May the renewing peace of Christ guard our hearts and minds,
so that, together, we might walk in the way of unity that
your Spirit makes possible –
during the pandemic and always.
Amen.
