This photo is of Scott. Scott has been a faithful NOW client for almost 2 years; so faithful in fact, that he and his wife Angie drive all the way from Lowell to be involved in our group!

The Nutritional Options for Wellness (NOW) program is a healthy lifestyle change program supporting under-resourced adults who have one of three chronic diseases:

  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Chronic Renal disease.

The NOW program participants at Streams of Hope walk in our activity center or exercise with instructors from Spectrum Health. They drink coffee, share recipes, and are now excited to be able to prepare healthy food in our newly remodeled kitchen. An important part of our support group are regular Streams of Hope volunteers who shop with each member personally from our selected foods for diabetic clients.

Although Scott has had a few health/surgery setbacks, he has successfully lost 7 lbs., his low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) are significantly down, and his A1C (measure of blood glucose) is down to 4.9!

He is thankful to be feeling good!
