Two non-profit organizations based in Grand Rapids, Michigan utilize the same scripture verse as a basis for their ongoing ministry work: Streams of Hope and Turning Point Missions. Both are faith-based places that realize “streams of living water flow from God’s disciples” as shared in John 7. While one organization is local and the other is overseas, they are collaborating on some mutual kingdom-building work.

For the last few years, we have badly needed a new kitchen to support programming at our community center. The current facility was built in 1982, and still gets used by multiple groups 4-5 days every week. After 36 years, it is time for a re-furb!

page1image16992Turning Point has been able to assist by providing general contracting expertise, and overseeing a rebuild of the kitchen – new countertops, cabinets, flooring, and fixtures all to be included. The new kitchen is sure to be a much-needed improvement! Plus, Turning Point Missions has experience providing employment for people who have limited work opportunities elsewhere, so this project will provide additional employment that supports family independence.

Additionally, a portion of the project expense will also support Turning Point Missions’ work in bringing clean water to villages in Haiti. Supporting this project will result in another complete filtration system being installed to support dozens of families. What a great way for the local Streams of Hope community to learn about international needs and make a difference for others, too.

To support this project,  you can make a tax-deductible gift to Streams of Hope through our online portal.

We look forward to sharing photos of the finished product soon!
