At Streams of Hope, we like to celebrate good things. Our annual Kindness Matters award is one way to do just that!

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 Kindness Matters award goes to Joyce VanNoord. Joyce and her husband have been volunteering at the Food Center for over five years – ever since it opened on July 1, 2012.  Given in loving memory of Mr. Herman Snyder, this Kindness Matters award highlights a person in the Streams of Hope family who demonstrates kindness in a tangible and sacrificial way. We are so grateful to Herman’s children for starting Kindness Matters to continue his legacy.

We are so privileged to have Joyce at Streams of Hope! She is warm, kind, and caring, and always has a ready smile for anyone she meets. “Joyce enjoys getting to know each of the clients she shops with and offers them a hug to cheer them up,” shares her coworker Sandi. “Joyce is also very willing to pray with anyone who needs it, even if that means stopping in the middle of the food center aisle.” We love this kind of overflowing kindness that drops everything in order to serve someone else!

Anyone who meets Joyce knows that Jesus’ love is pouring out through her and you feel special because of it.  We are very blessed to have Joyce on our volunteer team.  She is making a difference one person at a time! Thank you for your many years of faithful service, Joyce. Your kindness truly does matter.
