Friends, this is a reason to celebrate!

We recently received a generous $10,000 grant from Bank of America. This gift will sustain programs that foster healthy families, schools, and neighborhoods in the Townline community. As a result of this gift, the Streams of Hope community garden, mentorship program for high-risk youth, and summer programming for students will continue to provide safe spaces for families to learn and grow.

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc. is passionate about supporting their neighbors – and especially young students – through partnerships with organizations like Streams of Hope.

“We provide programs that allow kids a place to either get some help with school work or just relax and have fun,” shares Streams of Hope Executive Director Paul Holtrop. “Parents can be confident that kids are in a good environment when they participate at Streams of Hope.” Students who are involved in mentorship and summertime programming at the community center enjoy a safe space to make friends, get help with school work, and choose a healthy lifestyle.

This grant will also support the community garden, which is not only a source of healthy and fresh food, but an opportunity for Streams of Hope to reach out to the surrounding families.

“Providing food allows us to meet our neighbors, and in our culture we often include food when we build relationships,” says Holtrop. “It is a great environment to get to know neighbors, sharing ideas and other resources. We are so grateful to Bank of America for their partnership in this endeavor.”
